The Flight One Certificate II in Aeroskills Job-Seeker Programme introduces adult learners to the fundamentals of aircraft maintenance engineering in a real aviation setting. Designed to cater to beginners, the course covers essential hand skills, workplace safety, and the basics of aircraft systems. Trainees gain transferable skills that are valuable not only in aviation but also in industries like automotive, mining, and manufacturing and defence. The programme provides an overview of both avionics (electrical and navigation systems) and mechanical systems (engines, hydraulics, and airframes), preparing students for further studies, apprenticeships or employment.

This qualification equips trainees with entry-level skills for roles in aircraft maintenance workshops, supporting tasks like basic repairs and component servicing under supervision. Eligibility
To be eligible to join this special course, candidates must be un/under-employed, Australian or NZ citizen (or eligible visa holder) residing in South Australia, not be enrolled in high school, vocational, or university training and minimum 16 years of age at commencement. Please note that ACIC AusCheck (criminal history), ASIO and immigration clearances may be required and the training place is subject to drug and alcohol management plans.

The Flight One Certificate II in Aeroskills Job-Seeker Programme provides a hands-on introduction to aircraft maintenance engineering, covering both mechanical and avionics fundamentals. The course equips students with transferable skills in workplace safety, precision hand tools, and aircraft systems. With training delivered by industry experts, graduates gain foundational knowledge applicable to aviation, automotive, mining, and manufacturing industries.
Special arrangements have been made for industry guests and mentors to attend and provide additional industry context, insights and support to ensure that trainees are well informed and prepared to enter employment pathways – directly, or via an apprenticeship. Flight One Apprentice Programme team members will also provide guidance and advice regarding this popular industry pathway.
