Industry-focused post-CPL training for pilots seeking practical experience in aircraft commonly used by general aviation operators.
Move beyond the training fleet. Build experience employers can use.
The Cessna 210 GA Readiness Course has been developed to improve employment readiness for newly qualified and developing commercial pilots, including Flight One graduates and pilots trained elsewhere. It provides structured experience in the Cessna 210 — a capable, relatively advanced single-engine aircraft commonly used by general aviation operators, particularly across Western Australia, the Northern Territory and northern Queensland.
Flight One developed the programme in response to direct feedback from general aviation employers. Operators often find that new CPL holders have the required licence and total flight time, but limited experience in larger piston singles and little exposure to the practical demands of charter-style operations. The course is designed to close that gap.
Two core options are available. The first focuses on general Cessna 210 competency, combining theory with approximately four hours of dual flying to develop safe aircraft handling. The second includes this foundation plus three commercial-style cross-country exercises using simulated passenger and cargo payloads, away airfields including grass strips, and rapid turn-around scenarios. This extended option takes the pilot to approximately 10 hours on type, a level commonly sought by insurers before permitting command operations and attractive to employers operating aircraft such as the Cessna 206 and 210.
This Programme Includes
Cessna 210 dual flight training | Theory and briefing | Competency assessment | Commercial-style cross-country exercises | Simulated passenger and cargo operations | Away-airfield and grass-strip experience
